Cookie Policy
Essential storage keeps the site secure and remembers choices. Optional analytics stay off until you choose otherwise.

1. What this policy covers
This policy covers cookies and similar storage/access technologies used on handledhere.com, including local storage. Cookies are small files; local storage is a browser facility with a similar purpose.
2. Essential storage
| Name / category | Purpose | Typical duration | Consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
handled_cookie_choice | Remembers whether you selected essential only or accepted optional cookies. | Up to 6 months in the current frontend; production may use a cookie management platform. | No separate consent: necessary to record the user's privacy choice. |
| Security/session identifiers | Authentication, fraud prevention, form integrity, load balancing and secure case access. | Session based or kept only as long as technically necessary. | Normally no, where strictly necessary for the service requested. |
| Intake draft (if enabled) | Prevents a case form being lost while the user completes it. | Session or a short defined period. | Normally no if genuinely necessary for the requested form feature; otherwise ask. |
3. Analytics and optional technologies
Analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, heatmaps and other technologies that are not essential must not be set before valid consent. If introduced, the live policy will name the provider, purpose, data used, retention period and whether information leaves the UK.
4. Your choice
You should be able to reject optional cookies as easily as accept them. Rejecting analytics must not prevent you from submitting or managing a case. You can also delete cookies and local storage using your browser controls.
5. Changes
We will update this table when technologies change. The live site must be scanned before launch and after material deployments so that the published list matches reality.
